Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump during a meeting in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington, DC, February 28, 2025. President Trump told reporters in Washington that he wants an immediate ceasefire but President Zelensky is not ready for peace. He also said Zelensky won’t be able to win if he fights it out without the US. "What he's got to say is, 'I want to make peace.' He doesn’t have to stand there and say 'Putin this, Putin that,' all negative things. He’s got to say, 'I want to make peace.' I don't want to fight a war anymore," Trump said. According to the Washington Post, the Trump administration is considering ending all ongoing shipments of military aid to Ukraine. The decision, if taken, would apply to billions of dollars of radars, vehicles, ammunition and missiles awaiting shipment to Ukraine through the presidential drawdown authority. Zelensky told Fox News that he did not believe he owed President Trump an apology after their meeting in the Oval Office, emphasising Ukraine's need for security guarantees until the end of the conflict. More than a dozen European and EU leaders, including Zelensky, will gather for another major summit scheduled for Sunday in London which is meant to drive forward action on Ukraine and security.
